VettID is an associate member of the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) — you can find us on the AAIF members page.
Why we're there
AI agents are about to act on behalf of billions of ordinary people — booking, buying, negotiating, filing. Whether that future is empowering or predatory depends on decisions being made right now in standards bodies, mostly by vendors, mostly about vendors.
We joined AAIF to represent a different constituency: the ordinary person who needs secure, private, and trusted control over their own AI agents. Our first contribution will be LEASH, a standard we're preparing to submit that ensures agents can be useful without being trusted with your secrets — because the honest answer is that they shouldn't be.
Standards only protect people when they're vendor-neutral. That's why LEASH is designed as an open standard rather than kept as a proprietary VettID feature.
